Dr. Benoit Borner

Dr. Benoit Borner is an orthopedic and trauma surgeon specializing in shoulder and elbow surgery. A graduate of the University of Geneva in 2015, he completed his medical training at Geneva University Hospitals (HUG) and obtained his FMH (Swiss Medical Association) certification in 2023 and his specialized trauma surgery diploma in 2025. He then undertook a one-year fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery at the Sydney Shoulder Research Institute (Australia), which he completed in 2026. Since then, he has maintained a clinical, surgical, and scientific research practice at CEPCO (Center for Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology). Author of several scientific publications, he is also an active member of various medical and scientific societies.
Formation
Dr. Benoit Borner completed his training in orthopedic surgery and musculoskeletal trauma at Geneva University Hospitals (HUG), where he served as head of the shoulder-elbow and trauma teams. He obtained his FMH specialist certification in 2023 and his SSC/SO specialized trauma diploma in 2025. Supported by the HUG Continuing Education Fund, he furthered his training with a specific subspecialty fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery at the Sydney Shoulder Research Institute in Australia, which he completed in 2026. This allowed him to master emerging and innovative surgical techniques and to actively participate in clinical research. With a view to continuously improving his evidence-based clinical and surgical practice, he continues to contribute to the development of this scientific approach by actively participating in various research projects in the field.
