Alors que la r\u00e9duction ouverte et la fixation interne ont \u00e9t\u00e9 le traitement de choix, les r\u00e9sultats n&rsquo;ont pas \u00e9t\u00e9 aussi concluants chez les patients \u00e2g\u00e9s. Plus de deux tiers des cas dans cette population pr\u00e9sentent une fracture articulaire fortement comminutive et un stock osseux insuffisant, ce qui compromet la qualit\u00e9 et la stabilit\u00e9 de la construction. L&rsquo;arthroplastie totale du coude a gagn\u00e9 en popularit\u00e9 dans le traitement de ces fractures et a donn\u00e9 de meilleurs r\u00e9sultats en termes de douleur, de fonction et de satisfaction du patient. N\u00e9anmoins, elle pr\u00e9sente \u00e9galement un taux \u00e9lev\u00e9 de complications, telles que l&rsquo;infection, la neuropathie cubitale et le descellement, qui doivent \u00eatre discut\u00e9es avec les patients avant l&rsquo;op\u00e9ration.
